FRONT COVER: Editing on The Final Shot

When working with my final shot, I did not have to edit anything on my model's face (scars, pimples, marks, dark circles, etc) however as I added my front covers features such as the bright background and vibrantly-coloured artist name, the shot ended up looking very washed out; I edited the photograph at two separate points during the construction of my front page:




As you can see on the left image, the photo looks faded and unsaturated. At this moment, I opened the Levels of the photo and increased the contrast and shadowing as well as decreasing the exposure and brightness.



I then began to add more colour with my artist's name and still felt like the image was too faint so I opened the Hue/Saturation editor and increased the saturation. After that, I went to the Exposure setting and decreased that; here is a side-by-side comparison of the untouched image at first and the final product after editing the photo.
